The Start of Something New

At the start of 2025, John and Katherine felt inspired towards a goal to both help others, and create a purpose that the father-daughter duo would find fulfillment in. After many talks over coffee, during family game night, and while driving long distances; Skyward Pursuits was born on March 4th of the same year.

While it was scary to take that leap into self-employment, not knowing if we might fall, Skyward Pursuits took flight and continues to soar ever higher, beyond our expectations.

Meet John

John Mahlmeister is a career coach with a Master of Science in Talent Development and over 35 years of diverse work history. John worked in a factory for 15 years, as an insurance agent for 10 years, and with the University of Illinois for 10 years. He lives with his wife Danna and their 3 dogs, and enjoys the empty nest that 4 adult children gives him.

Meet Katherine

Katherine Mahlmeister is a story enthusiast and bus driver with a background in Customer Service and Professional Writing. Katherine is John's middle child and currently enjoys single life with her cat, crafting in her free time.
